Come Join us we are Marching in the Toronto Pride Parade Toronto - Seneca NH Pride - Final-2

Ashton Writes: I just wanted to add Stephanie & Melissa’s post. Yes we want the Seneca Pride people who are comfortable with it to join us at the Pride Parade. We also want to encourage people to keep in touch over the summer time so here is some stuff we have going on.

The picture below links to the Rainbow League Facebook group:

Get in contact with Melissa or Stephanie to join that group. Links to their Facebook profiles in their pictures.

Also thank you to Stephanie who has for now taken care of the domain name change on the website. It was driving me crazy having the wrong name on the website but now our communications are much more unified. If you want to communicate anything on the website feel free to contact either Stephanie or Melissa now. They have both been trained on putting together blog posts & managing the website.

If you are at Seneca King Campus, get in touch with Cleo Phil who will help you over there. I want to unify the Pride groups more in the fall. I will look to work with Cleo more on that in the future.

Seneca Pride meeting, how can we accommodate Non-Binary and transgender people with a suitable bathroom solution?

Seneca Pride meeting.png

There is a Seneca Pride meeting March 16th 2017. Room E1401.

Ashton Deroy Writes: Transgender people have a recent history of having some issues with current bathroom accommodation in Canada. Unfortunately not everyone is as progressive about sharing the bathroom with their transgender peers.

This causes the question, is the current accommodation enough or should we employ the gender neutral bathrooms like Snakes & Lattes on Bloor & Younge? We could also maybe try to get more single use bathrooms.

When it comes to education we should have all forms of students from all different backgrounds with a voice.

Melissa found some gender Neutral bathroom locations on Seneca Newnham Campus.

Ashton Deroy writes: “The colors of the pride flag represent the diversity of the LGBT+ community. The flag originates from Northern California, USA. Now the flag is the iconic symbol of Pride worldwide. Also the Netherlands was the first country to allow same sex marriage in 2001.”

“Welcome back everyone, our next group is this Thursday from 5-7 p.m. Please note the room change, the room is E1401. Happy to report that the group will be every week. Hope to see everyone. Renee and I will also be handing out flyers/promo at a table in front of the Library this Thursday from 11:00-2:00, drop by the table and help us promote the group. Happy New Year every one.” Holly and Renee.

Managing Communications Update

Managing Communications.png

Ashton Deroy says “So on free projects I don’t like it when too many people get involved with creating and managing channels, because the quicker they make them. The quicker they abandon them. So what if we get contacts through these channels? This is why I would like all of our communications to be managed by me moving forward. As I am constantly managing the site because everything runs through my business accounts. If you want to commit 5 days a week to posting and moderating you are more then welcome to link a channel. Chances are you won’t so I’d rather take it over.”
